Ramses II Travels to Japan
A global press conference was held in Tokyo to announce the arrival of the Ramses II and the Gold of the Pharaohs exhibition in Tokyo, with its opening scheduled for March 8. Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy will attend the opening in March.
During the press conference, Egyptian Ambassador Mohamed Abou Bakr spoke, along with Japanese archaeologist Dr. Yoshimura, exhibition organizer Ron Tan, and Dr. Mohamed Ismail, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities. The event was attended by around 200 journalists and 20 top-tier television channels.
I conveyed very important messages through this exhibition. The first message is that this is the greatest gift from Egypt to Japan. I also announced that when I attend the upcoming opening, I will present a replica of my iconic hat to the Governor of Tokyo, a remarkable woman. When she asked about the hat, I told her that I would personally present her with one at the opening.
Additionally, I spoke about the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is set to open next summer, as well as my most significant archaeological discoveries. I also introduced Japanese singer SeKai, who will perform an opera concert at the foot of the pyramids on April 11. This will be a grand celebration, with EgyptAir serving as the official sponsor of the exhibition.
